A CENTURY OF HISTORY WILL BE CELEBRATED DURING VICENZAORO SEPTEMBER 2019
The company, European leader in the pearls sector and one of the most prestigious in the processing of cameos and corals at international level, is in fact among the few Italian companies to boast a century of life.
Founded in 1919 in Torre del Greco, Coscia has turned out 100 candles in the splendid setting of Villa Bonin Club & Restaurant, in Vicenza.
An event in the event. The celebrations were held during the autumn edition of the Vicenzaoro Kermesse, which from 7th to 11th September 2019 turned the spotlight on the city of Palladio, the world capital of jewelry.
The private party was an opportunity for customers, buyers, journalists and many friends to applaud the prestigious milestone reached by the Coscia family that for three generations has embellished the beauty of women with unique collections of incomparable elegance.
Many events have enriched the evening of celebrations including the extraordinary participation of the IED, the European Institute of Design. Students for the occasion participated in the competition entitled “Thigh – Our first 100 years between tradition and innovation”. The call for bids included two different projects, one for the iconic Coscia line, the other for the glamor one, known as “LELUNE”.
The guests of the party were honored with a prestigious gift: a precious book, edited by Giancarlo Coscia himself, which tells the wonderful entrepreneurial fable of which his family is the protagonist. Among the pages of the book we can see the courage that animated Vincenzo, in 1919. It was he who, combining the traditional activity of coral fishing with fine workmanship, founded the Company, following in the footsteps left by his father Francesco. In addition to this, the following are narrated: the close bond that the Coscias still hold today with their native land, Torre del Greco; the courageous entrepreneurial outbursts of the three generations who led the company; the determination to pursue a job that gives us today, after a century of activity, one of the most important and thriving entrepreneurial realities in the world of jewelery.
Representing also the ten-year partnership between Japan and Coscia, some representatives of the Japan Pearl Exporters’ Association also took part in the celebrations, one of the largest pearl producer and exporter organizations in the world, of which Giancarlo Coscia has been a member since 2012 associated.
Those who have visited the Coscia stand during Vicenzaoro (Hall 6, Stand 114), will have the exclusive opportunity to see up close a very selected jewelery show with CONCH pearls. These are natural, non-cultivable, rare and high value pearls. Suffice it to say that only one Conch mollusc produces a pearl every 10 thousand, and that only 10% of these are classified as “Gemma”. It is therefore very delicate pearls. For these innumerable reasons, making a jewel with these pearls requires great skill and a considerable initial investment.
Alongside these excellences, also the iconic Coscia jewels, to retrace the highlights of this first century of activity.
